About

Hello, I’m Janine John, a content marketer and researcher, with a wide-ranging background in communications and business support.

I’m lucky enough to be based in Windermere, within the beautiful English Lake District World Heritage Site in Cumbria. Brought up in the tourist industry, I became a virtual PA in 2006 (rebranding as a communications specialist in 2015), and have provided marketing, research and business support on a variety of short and long-term projects throughout that time.

Back in 2009 I designed and wrote the linking narrative for a keepsake historical book, and realised that I wanted to take my writing to a higher level professionally. I studied a distance learning master’s degree in Professional Communication, which consisted of a number of modules from Sheffield Hallam University’s specialist programme in technical communication (writing audience-centric materials such as user manuals).

I passed my MA with distinction in April 2012, and for my dissertation produced an academic research project on the issues involved in communicating about climate change.

Why talk to me about your marketing needs? I love my work and bring commitment and enthusiasm to everything I do. I enjoy learning, and can regularly be found updating my skills through reading and more formal training. In recent years, I have taken further courses in photography, leadership and business accounting (AAT), as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CAM) Diploma in Digital Marketing.

I am an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). I work with clients nationally and internationally, as well as locally in Cumbria and Lancashire. If you think I can help in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
